We Come To Play: Taking you to the next level

This how to is Copywrite of We Come To Play.com You may NOT copy this. Make your own if you want like we did.

If anyone is interested in becoming a Team Speak server admin, you need to donate $10 per month that goes towards our server costs. http://wecometoplay.com/forum/payments.php Click that link in order to set up the donation. If you donate $100, you get server admin for a year, saving you $20 bucks.

You will need an account on our forums in order for it to work. http://wecometoplay.com/

Server admins can allow people to register, create channels and subchannels. They can ban people and they can password channels.

If you do not know how to set up teamspeak, here's a how to.

I hope it helps!

The NUMBER 1 error almost EVERYONE makes is not setting up a connection correctly and using quick connect. If you do this, you'll come back unregistered and think you've set it up right, when in fact, you have NOT.

If you come back unregistered, follow the directions. REPEAT! If you come back UN registered, that means you have NOT followed these directions. So don't try telling us you have followed the instructions, we know better. If you say that, we're just going to tell you to READ this again and come back after you actually follow these. If after reading these instructions, you STILL come back unregistered, you're fucked. We don't know what to tell ya.. Reroll at life. :)

Downloading the Client...

To download Teamspeak, go to http://www.goteamspeak.com/ or click here and get the latest client version. It is free to download and use, so as long as you have a mic and some speakers, you're good to go.

Run the install program.

Once it is installed on your computer, start the program by double clicking the icon on your desktop. The first step will be to add a new server.

STEP ONE Adding a server

Adding a new server...

Click Connection at the top left of the client, then Connect from the menu that drops down. Right click anywhere in the "Local Addressbook" tab and Add Server.

Here is the information you will need. Just single left click on the new server you created and fill in the following information:

1. Label: WeComeToPlay
2. Server Address: 82.165.253.73:8767
3. Nickname: NAME {GUILD} LEVEL RACE CLASS For example: LoC-Leppard lvl 21 Inquisitor (Or you can just put in whatever nickname you want.)
4. Check the anonomous box for now

The rest of the information you should leave blank for now.

_________________

You will now need to register on the server.

5. Click the Connect button at the bottom right corner.

STEP TWO Registering with the server

You should now be connected to our Teamspeak server. You will be in the default "Unregistered" channel at the top of the channel list, with a "(U)" after your name. This indicates that you are (Unregistered).

Registering on the Server...

To get registered, you will need one of the System Administrators (SA) to give you permission to register your name on the server. To do this, simply ask someone in the channel to have a SA come to the channel for a moment or send an in game tell to a member you know is in team speak. It might take a lil while for a Server Admin to notice you are in the unregistered channel but be patient, someone will help you.

Once you have been granted permission to register, go to the top of the client and click Self and then choose Register with server from the menu that will drop down.

It will ask you for your "Login Name" and a "Password".

Your password is private and not even the SA can see it, so be sure to write both down so you do not forget them.

Also, NEVER use your game account information as your Name and password!

STEP THREE Connecting after you've registered

Once you have registered, click Connection at the top left once more, and Connect from the menu.

Single left click the server name from the list. Then click the Registered dial and fill in the following:

6. Login Name with the same information you just used to register.

7. Password with the same information you just used to register.

Spelling counts, and remember that it is caSe SenSaTIvE.

8. Click the Connect button at the bottom right corner to connect to the server once more.

From now on, you will only have to choose the server from your list and click the Connect button at the bottom right corner to log on.

If you did it right you will connect and have an R by your name stating that you're registered. If you did it WRONG, you'll have U by your name so go back to Step Three Connecting after you've registered:

One more thing. I suggest turning off all the sounds of Team Speak so you don't hear who comes in and who leaves etc.

To do this Click Settings, Options, click the sound notification tab, then click disable all sounds.

ONE VERY IMPORTANT STEP! Click Settings, Input/Output.. Click the Push to Talk dial. Then press the Set button so you can set a keyboard key to trigger your mic like a walky talky. Other wise you will have an open mic and get feedback. People HATE that and you'll get kicked out of your channel.

Lastly, get Team Speak Overlay or a similar program that will let you see who's talking while you're in a game. http://www.teamspeakoverlay.com/
